The C Div Bowen Bullets pulled off a convincing 3-0 win over Montfort Secondary this afternoon at Lor Napiri in a NZ Inter-School Group C match.

There was nothing to tell both teams apart inside the first 15 minutes of the match, though Bowen created the better chances. But as the match wore on, the Bullets' superiority surfaced as they kept up the pressure while Montfort eased up.
Bullets striker Muhd Aadil was the beneficiary of a good clearance in midfield by Bullets right-back Muhd Afiq in the 15th minute; he was the first to pounce on the clearance in the penalty box and then proceeding to place the ball beyond the reach of the Montfort goalkeeper for a 1-nil lead to Bowen.

10 minutes later, Aadil was at it again as he sneaked behind the Montfort backline after receiving a pass from teammate Ariffin just outside the box. Steering the ball towards goal, he was then able to calmly side-foot the ball past the keeper into an empty net.

The second half saw Montfort mounting an ambitious attempt to play higher up the field and put pressure on the Bullets. The Bowen boys were however, equally determined to foil their plans. In fact, the Bullets continued to create numerous chances in front of the Monfort goalmouth despite a more energetic display by their opponents.

The result was put beyond doubt when the referee awarded Bowen a penalty in the 59th minute for a handball offence. Bullets striker Muhd Ariffin converted the spot kick to the cheers of the home supporters. The victory put Bowen at the top of Group C with a tie against the group favourites Singapore Sports School the following week.
