The B Div Boys from Bowen Secondary completed their first round matches in the NZ Inter-Schools Competition this afternoon at Spectra Secondary School ground by trouncing Pei Hwa Secondary 8-0.

On the 3rd February, the match was played for 16 minutes but bad weather caused the match to be postponed and continued this afternoon. The rout by the Bullets began as early as the 6th minute when Sharveen's half-cross from the right hit the bar and striker Matin Uzair arrived to tap the rebound into an empty net.

In the 11th minute Bullet No. 9 Aizal Murhamdani provided the assist from the right, cutting back his cross for teammate Muhd Yusri to tap the ball home.

A minute later, Bullets striker Matin Uzair scored his second goal when he received the ball in the penalty box and wiggled his way around to slot the ball past the exposed Pei Hwa goalkeeper for a 3-0 lead.

Not to be outdone, Bullets midfielder Shakir got his name on the scoresheet as well. 15 minutes into the game, he latched onto a weak clearance by the Pei Hwa defence outside the box and placed his shot low and beyond the reach of the keeper into the goalmouth.

The game was stopped as dark clouds envelope the sky and a thuderstorm brewed in the horizon. When the game resumed, Pei Hwa was only able to garner 10 players for the postponed match.

The Bullets showed no mercy, pounding another 4 goals into the Pei Hwa goalmouth. Muhd Yusri finished a fine move in the 19th minute by Aizal who was found unmarked by skipper Muhd Tahalif's searching pass from midfield. He had little trouble converting the Aizal's cut-back into goal.

Before half time, the enterprising Sharveen scored Bowen's 6th goal from a narrow angle on the right side of the penalty box.

Shakir then took a shot just inside the penalty box for 7-0 and Bullets winger Fareez completed the rout by forcing a narrow angled shot into the goalmouth after beating his marker on the left flank.

With the victory over Pei Hwa Secondary, the Bullets have won all their 5 first round matches and finished top in Group B to go into the School Premier League round where 32 teams from all over Singapore compete for top honours.
