Bowen Secondary School's rampant Bullets fired thirteen goals past their hapless host Punggol Sec this afternoon to qualify for the quarter-finals of the North Zone Inter-Schools B Div Boys Championship as Group C winners.

After Sembawang Sec had beaten Greendale Sec 2-0 in an earlier match, the Bullets knew they had to claim a victory to go above Sembawang and win the group. The Bullets burst Punggol's net twice before the host knew what had hit them. Bullets skipper Tan Ren Yu led the way in the very first minute, scoring with an angled shot after the Punggol defence hesitated to clear the ball in their penalty box. In the 12th min, Javier Ho was left unmarked just inside the penalty box to steer the ball into goal.

The Bullets were well in control until the 19th minute when the Bowen defence went to sleep and allowed three Punggol attackers to get behind the defence line and steal a goal back.

However, Punggol was powerless to prevent the Bullets rampaging forward after that. Muhd Danial scored off an assist from Rafid Khan in the 27th min before Muhd Afiq converted a penalty a minute later to make it 4-1. The Bullets put up a slick show of quick short passes in and around the opponent's penalty box, scoring two more goals with ease. Muhd Danial tapped in his second goal from a Muhd Afiq cross and Javier Ho danced his way past Punggol's defence to caressed the ball home for Bowen's 6th goal.

Punggol tried to keep their heads above water after the restart but there was to be no respite. The Bullets served up a sumptuous display of attacking football, racking up the goals through Muhd Afiq (49th min), Ren Yu (50th) and Javier (52th).

The Bullets made four changes in the 57th min, resting key players, perhaps to spare Punggol from further suffering, but even the replacements were in no mood to give way. After switching to the right flank, Rafid Khan made it 10-1 (62th), surging behind Punggol's defence to side-foot the ball into goal. Even substitutes Muhd Hazim (66th, 71st) and Faris Hanan (68th, 73rd) got into the act, each scoring 2 goals to end the afternoon with an overwhelming 13-1 scoreline.
