The first fifteen minutes of the game was all quiet, with the SJI players steadily denying the Bowen attackers of all their chances. In the 16th minute, Sasi Kala Tamang broke the silence with the first goal. Two minutes later, Emilia Natasha smashed the second into the back of the net after a cross from teammate Ong Yan Ling. Sasi then dribbled through the entire SJI defence to make the score 3-0 just before half time.
